Privacy Policy

Sleigh the Day is made by Arda Akdere, a sole proprietor in Türkiye. This policy covers the iPhone app and this website. It is written to be read. If anything is unclear, email arda@arda.christmas.

The short version

  • No account. You never give us your name or email to use the app.
  • Nothing you write is ever sent to us. Your history syncs through your own iCloud, which we cannot read.
  • No ads, and nothing is tracked across other apps or websites.
  • The app sends anonymous usage data so we can fix things. There is a switch for it in Settings, and it works.
  • This website uses no cookies.

What the app keeps

A record of each focus and rest session you finish: when it started and ended, how long you aimed for, how long you actually worked, which kind it was, and a note if you wrote one. It also keeps your settings, your poster and the name you may have written during setup. The session that is running right now stays on your phone.

iCloud

Your finished sessions, notes included, are stored in your own private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit, so your history follows you. It is your Apple Account, not ours: we cannot see that database. If iCloud is off, everything keeps working on your phone. Deleting the app removes its data from the phone; the synced copy stays in your iCloud until you remove it in Settings, your name, iCloud, Manage Account Storage.

Usage data

The app sends anonymous events to PostHog (PostHog Inc., United States) such as "a session was completed" or "a screen was opened", tied to a random identifier made for your install, not to you. For a session it sends a rounded range of its length, like "25–45 minutes", never the exact time. It also records which options you picked during setup. If the app crashes, a report of which part of the code failed, on which iOS and app version, is sent the same way. Your notes, your poster and your name are never sent. Turn it off in Settings, under Privacy, and nothing is sent.

Purchases

Purchases go through Apple. To know whether your purchase is active, the app uses RevenueCat (RevenueCat Inc., United States), which receives the purchase receipt from Apple, a random app-scoped identifier and basic device and app information such as the iOS version. It does not receive your name, email or payment details; Apple keeps those.

This website

The web timer keeps your chosen durations and today's count in your browser's local storage, on your device only. The site uses PostHog in a cookieless mode: it stores nothing on your device, sets no cookies, and does not follow you elsewhere. It is hosted by Render (Render Services Inc., United States).

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the app schedules one local chime when a session ends. It is created and delivered on your phone; nothing is sent to a server. To keep your history in sync, iCloud itself uses Apple's push service to tell the app when something changed.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is usually nothing to access or delete on our side. If you believe otherwise, email us and we will help. Residents of the EU, UK and California have the rights their laws give them, and we honour them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the app's release notes say so.
